Media and public are welcome to attend the Toronto BMX Jam 2014, part of the Toronto International Bicycle Show at the Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place Toronto Ontario Canada (Click For Map) Friday February 28, 2014 12pm-8pm, Saturday March 1, 2014 10am-6pm and Sunday March 2, 2014 10am-6pm.

Mike Heaton, owner/operator of Quetico College School in Atikokan, Ontario, formerly an alternative school teacher in Toronto is the organizer of the Toronto BMX Jam for the 8th consecutive year in 2014. Mike has been instrumental in fostering BMX programs for youth in all areas of the city of Toronto for a number of years.

200 BMX riders of all age ranges will participate over three days, with riders coming from as far away as Japan to participate. There are categories for amateur BMX riders, ladies BMX and Pros. For a full schedule of riders click here

A Youtube Live broadcast of the entire event will occur on TorontoBMX Youtube channel which is available to watch at TorontoBMX.ca/Live/

Toronto BMX Jam is especially honoured this year to welcome world BMX champion Drew Bezanson from Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada. Drew won the prestigious Simple Session in Tallin, Estonia on February, 2014.

This year there is an additional mountain bike category.

There are media opportunities to film riders, interview riders/organizers. The venue is a great location for live hits for purposes such as TV weather updates, and the BMX riders make for great action shots for print media photos.

There are many sponsors of the event, including Toronto Crime Stoppers and Toronto Police Service, who will promote a website designed to be a one stop guide what to do about a stolen bike in collaboration with community partners. The website is IsThisBikeStolen.com and features the ability to check a serial number directly on the Candian Police Information Computer to see if it is reported stolen from any desktop or laptop computer or mobile device.

There are many exhibits at the International Bicycle Show as well. For full details on the show click here:
